Mine Geologist
Experience and Competencies needed
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geology;
- Minimum five years’ experience as a production geologist, preferably in an open pit mine;
- Registration and in good standing with the APGO or in the process of being registered;
- Eligible for registration as a Drone pilot;
- Experience using 3D software, preferably Datamine Studio RM or Maptek Vulcan;
- Experience with geological modeling and drill core logging;
- Experience working at a remote work site is an asset;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
Technician, Geology Open Pit
Experience and Competencies needed
- College Diploma in mineral technology or equivalent (experience with surveying practices and equipment is an asset);
- 2 years of experience in the mining industry (open pit experience is considered an asset);
- Hold a valid driver’s license;
- Cultural awareness and understanding of work in the Canadian Arctic is considered an asset;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suits applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
GeologyGeological Data Analysis
Experience and Competencies needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Geology, Geoscience, Business Management, Information Systems, or a related field
- . 6+ years of experience in data analysis, database management, or geological data handling (mining or exploration industry experience preferred).
- Prior experience with acQuire GIM Suite, Seequent MX Deposit, HxGn MinePlan Drillhole Manager, or similar geological data management platforms strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in SQL, Excel, Python, R, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, R).
- Strong understanding of geological and drilling data types (assays, lithology, geotechnical, survey, sampling intervals/points). Demonstrated ability to perform data cleansing, transformation, and QA/QC. Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and communication skills.
Senior Engineer Geotechnical
Experience and Competencies needed
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- A recognized tertiary qualification in Geological, Geotechnical, Mining, or Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology, Geology, or an equivalent field
- Eligibility for professional designation (P.Eng. or P.Geo.) with Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL)
- A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a geotechnical role, with preference given to candidates with operational experience in an open-pit mining environment
- Experience with slope monitoring equipment, including prisms, radar, and in-ground instrumentation
- Exposure to software programs such as Vulcan, Leapfrog, PointStudio, GeoExplorer, and Rocscience packages (Slide, Dips, RocFall, Swedge, and RocPlane)
Geologist
Experience and Competencies needed
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology or related field required
- Five to seven years of post-graduate experience with at least 3 years in mineral exploration and mine geology, ore control or resource modelling or geologist roles.
- Experience with Vulcan, Leapfrog, Micromine or other mining software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work within a team environment and excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal. Communication skills.
- Ability to take initiative on geological and work independently.
- High level of organization and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of this job required.
- Demonstrated people leadership + management skills and training.
- Familiarity with and commitment to, OH&S and Environmental Management best practice.
- Database Software package.
